Before I begin ranting, and spewing my opinions, I want to make sure everyone knows what it is I am talking about. I am not going to go into the grim details, but, just explain the basics of it. Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy in a human. Basically, the fetus is removed before it is even viable. Now, the fetus may not be viable, but do you think its fair for that human to have it’s life ended before it even began? I don’t think it is…

This is where some common sense comes in. If you do not want to have a kid, do not have sex! Its as simple as that. Of course there are a couple exceptions to this. One of them is, if having a baby could kill or harm the mother, then an abortion would be appropriate. Or if you were raped. But usually a doctor would give you some medication to prevent you from getting pregnant after getting raped. That is if you reported it to the police, and they had the hospital do a medical exam.

I know this was a short post, but there is not much to say about this topic. My opinion on it is simple and straight forward. I am always open to a friendly debate, but when the insults start flying, I will close the comments.

I’ve been working the passed few weeks trying to come up with a new design for this site. Yes, the current design is fine, but I want something that is mine, and I can honestly say 100% that I did design, and code the website myself.

Here is one of the first designs I did. Pretty bland, eh? Yeah, and the color is terrible too. But, that is what graphic design is all about, trial and error. This was one of the three different designs I did. At first, this was acceptable to me. But as I started to break it into images in Photoshop, and start coding the HTML and CSS in Dreamweaver, I realized this was not going to workout.

Then, I came up with this design. Color is better, and it’s not as bad. But, I still was not very happy with it. I wanted something that was a little more appealing to the eye.

So, I hit the internet and searched for blogs similar to mine. I found a few designs that I liked, and then I came up with a header.

I am pretty happy with how this turned out. It is not the greatest in the world, but it will do for now. Now, the content area I cannot seem to decide on. Do I want to go with a two Column design, or a single Column design? Well I tried both concepts, and decided I liked the single column design, and came up with this final design.

Now this looks ALOT better then the other design ideas I had. Again, it’s not the greatest, but it will do as my first ever site designed by me. If you are a new graphic designer that just happened to browse onto my website, and are reading this post, take these words of advice. Graphic Design is full of trial and error. You will NEVER get the perfect look or design at first. Be patient, and just keep playing around with different concepts. Look at the blogs or websites you like, and take some ideas from theirs, and combine them all.

The first clue, that lead me to believe that this was defiantly a scam was the fact that my domain doesn’t expire till August of this year, and second, namecheap is my domain register, not this “regisdomaiurl.com”. Wanting to find out more about this, I went to the domain of the sender of the email and it forwarded to a site called “iGlobalMerchantServices” Screenshot below:

Now look at the bottom left quadrant where it says “Retrieve Account Information.” They want you to enter your Credit Card Number, Last Four digits, And the expiration date. Well, that right there puts another nail in this coffin, what “legit” company would ask you for that information just to retrieve your account info? None of them! (I would hope.)

After doing all this, I finished things off with a Google search of “iglobalmerchantservices” and came up with this page. These folks received the same email, or similar to the one i received. This is why people need to be careful when it comes to dealing with money on the internet.

Yes, this was a quick and random post. This may not stop everyone from falling for this scam, but it may however prevent one person from being scammed, and that would fulfill the purpose of this post.

Update (2/5/12): Right after I published this post, I noticed that they say they are BBB Accredited. I knew that probably wasn’t true So, i thought “Ah, what the hell!” So, I decided to search for “iglobalmerchantservices” in the BBB Database, and what do you know…. They are not even listed… There goes another nail in this coffin!

Wow! These passed few months have been packed with a ton of things! Getting ready for college has been one of them. Now that I have my G.E.D (General Education Diploma) a lot more doors have been opened for me. Such as getting a job, or going to college. I have chosen to go to college because it will open even more doors for me as far as jobs are concerned. And getting ready to do this has taken up a lot of my free time.

Now with my first term coming up in a month or so, I must make a choice on what degree program I want to do. I am stuck between a degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. Now some may say they are pretty much the same, while in fact, they focus on completely separate ends of the computer industry. Computer Science focuses on the Science side of technology such as math, theory, and algorithms while Computer Information System focuses on the business side such as communications for businesses or applications that are critical to a businesses operation. I could always get both degrees. The more education you have, the better you look to a future employer or client. My plan for now is to get through school, and maybe start a small business while I am still in school doing website design, and IT work for businesses. Anyways, when I do start college, I will make another post talking about my experience in college on my first day!
